Cast Glass
A work of art to be cast emerges on the designer's sketch pad. Then the model is made which is the basis for the final shape. At every step, every detail is refined and polished to perfection.
Before the hot crystal is poured into the finished mold, the mold has been heated to reduce the temperature difference. All casting is done by hand and requires great skill and knowledge of temperature and glass mass.
Målerås Glasbruk uses an exclusively produced crystal mass that absorbs light reflections and gives the glass extra clarity and beauty.
Blown Glass
In the melting pot, hot glass mass sparkles and lights up the cabin with a warm red glow. The glassblower catches the glass mass on his pipe and in the smoke from wet wooden molds the glass is processed to perfection.
To become a master requires talent, education and many years of experience, only then is the professional skill achieved that makes the designer's intentions come true. In Småland's Glass Kingdom, the glassblowing profession is often passed down, which guarantees that mouth-blown objects continue to find new owners all over the world.
Hand Paint Glass
Glass painting is an art form that has had a renaissance at Målerås Glasbruk. Our painters use different techniques and types of paint to give the glass piece the right expression.
ENGRAVED GLASS
After the cast piece of glass is painted, the engraver adds important details and sometimes requires another blasting.
Before the engraver receives the piece in his hand, it has been ground and polished in several stages to obtain the highest shine. After a final quality check, it is placed in its gift box and is now ready to find its owner somewhere in the world.
